A Project Manager

I have been working in project management since 2008, but over time, it has become more than just a role. It’s how I think, solve problems, and create impact.

I started my journey as a Project Coordinator in a manufacturing firm in Karachi, where I spent 7 years working on core business systems like ERP, HRMS, and Payroll. That phase built my foundation, understanding how systems shape organisations and how execution turns ideas into reality.

In 2015, I transitioned into the payments. That shift changed everything.

Since then, I’ve been deeply involved in FinTech, working across digital payments, wallets, and card solutions with some big companies.

Over the years, my focus has evolved from just delivering projects to understanding the bigger picture of how money moves, how systems scale, and how teams align to build reliable financial products.

While I’ve made a few career moves, they were driven by growth, both in terms of learning and opportunity.

Currently, I work as a Senior Project Manager at a UAE-based startup, where I continue to build and deliver in the payments space.

This page is a collection of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on, each one representing a lesson, a challenge, and a step forward in my journey.

BNPL for a KSA-based client.

The goal was to implement our BNPL engine within the bank and enable customers to use BNPL through their existing mobile app and merchant checkouts.

On the backend, we integrated with the bank’s middleware, SIMAH for credit checks, and the bank’s data warehouse for reporting.

This was a fast-paced project (unusual for Saudi Arabia). Quick client decisions meant constant coordination, escalations, and tight timelines. I worked Sundays for several months and spent a few weeks onsite to align with the bank’s processes.

The main challenges were on-premise deployment, misalignment between digital and tech teams, and limited visibility post-UAT.

A strong lesson from this project: alignment is as important as speed.
