The Struggle of Paths

Obstacles do not hinder the path of worldly desires; they adorn the path of Allah. If a wall were to block the way of our desires, we would exert all our strength to overcome it. Yet, if even a small pebble appears on the path of Allah, we act as though it might destroy us.

We live in an age where pleasure has become the ultimate value. It is a time when a mere straw on Allah's path seems like a mountain, while a mountain on the path of desires feels as light as a straw.
